Registration closing in...
Jason Moss is a Los Angeles-based mixer and the founder of Behind The Speakers.
He's a graduate of New York University's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, where he honed his skills through mentorships with Grammy-winning music-makers like Bob Power (The Roots, D'Angelo, De La Soul), Kevin Killen (U2, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel), and Jim Anderson (Sonny Rollins, Ella Fitzgerald, Charles Mingus).
Jason has hosted numerous mixing workshops at NYU. His how-to articles and videos have been viewed and shared over two million times, and his work has been featured in leading industry publications by Berklee, Recording Revolution, TuneCore, SonicScoop, The Pro Audio Files, Musician On A Mission, SoundGym and Disc Makers.
Everyone who registers for the workshop will receive a recording of the entire event after it's over.
This means if you can't make it live (or can only attend part of the workshop), you'll still be able to watch the entire event offline and benefit fully from the experience.
Dylan Owen's “Everything Gets Old” (listen to my final mix below).
Since this track was produced in a home studio, it features lots of challenges that are common for home studio music-makers. During the workshop, you'll watch me solve these challenges, which include:
PS—If hip-hop's not your genre, don't worry. The mixing process is universal, and it barely changes from genre to genre. You WILL find this workshop useful, regardless of what genre you typically work on.
I'll be mixing in Pro Tools with a variety of stock and third-party plugins. However, you'll have no problem applying what you learn in any DAW, with whatever plugins you currently own (including stock plugins).
During checkout, you'll have the option to add the multitracks to your order for $10. You'll receive these multitracks via email immediately after checking out, so you can dive in right away.
The multitracks will be delivered in WAV format, so you can import them into any DAW. This way, you can hone your skills by mixing the song yourself, or follow along in your DAW while you watch me mix.
You are also free to remix the song and feature it in your portfolio, as long as the artist is credited appropriately.
“I have learned more in Jason's course over the last two weeks than I have learned in three years. I just finished a song that is my best work to date using his system.”
- Producer/Mixer Brian Watts
“You instilled all this confidence back in me. When I sit down and approach a mix now, I just feel like I can do it. You totally changed the way I look at mixing, and really got me fired up about it again.”
-Producer/Mixer Jamie Mac
“You are an excellent instructor and have already made a huge impact on my mixes and life. I didn't want to say this because I don't want you to raise your prices for your courses, but they are worth so much more than you are charging.”
- Producer/Artist Izzy Kilman
